Careless attitude from Peugeot/Citroën South Africa

I bought my Peugeot 3008 in 2012. It is a lovely car that I enjoy immensely to such an extent that I cannot see myself driving anything else. However, in 2016 I started experiencing problems with the car, in August a routine service (which should have cost about R3 800) ended up costing met R13 500. Due to recalls on the car not being done by Lambons Peugeot (closed now) I suffered damages to the mechanics of my car. Peugeot Hatfield notified me of the recall campeigns but the damage was already done. If I had to pay for the recalls as well, it would have cost me in excess of R52 000. Today (22/02/2017) I took my car back to Peugeot Hatfield as I was experiencing problems with the battery (assumed), the battery would be replaced under warranty. I later received the news that it was in fact the cooling pump of the turbo that was faulty and that there was a recall campeign on the part (great news) but that the part had to be imported from France as Head office had no stock. If the parts arrive on time I should have my car by next Friday. As this is my only vehicle, I asked for a courtesy car from Peugeot Hatfield, but the fleet is out and they have nothing available for me at this time. I then phoned Head Office directly to ask for help from their side, only to be treated as a pest. I meet all the requirements to receive a car from them, except, my car is no longer under warranty... I received a total "not our problem" attitude from the help desk. When I asked to speak to the manager, the consultant became agressive and evasive, repeatedly telling me that I would receive no help, no matter who I spoke to. I did get to speak to the manager, but she too could care less about the incovenience the lack of parts or the recall campeign is causing me. I am now stuck at home. I have no idea how I am to get to work for the next week and a half. If this is the way Peugeot SA treats their loyal customers, then I need to get rid of my car asap. I now understand why so many Peugeot dealerships have closed shop in the past 2 years and why their vehicles have no second had value. I am utterly disgusted and disappointed with the way I was treated today. I think it only fair to warn others about ever buying a Peugeot or Citroën. If you still decide to buy one after reading this, have it serviced at Peugeot Hatfield, the service is excellent, but sell it as soon as the motorplan and warranty expires as Peugeot SA could care less about what happens to you after that!

Reporting back on my complaint, so sad I had to complain on a public domain to get any reaction... So Peugeot came through and delivered the part I needed for my car. I think they might have *****ed another customer out of theirs, but at least they could fix my car. The problem is, I had no issue on waiting for a part from France, that was fine and I understood that it takes time. My problem was that I would be without a vehicles for so long. Don't get excited however. I am still without car! They discovered two more problems on my car (another R1 500). The parts only arrive on Monday and without them the car will overheat and most likeley cause serious engine damage. So as Peugeot Hatfield STILL has no coutresy cars available, I am to suffer for another 4 days without a car. How I am to do my job at this stage is a mystery... Loss of income, here I come! I do have to compliment Rozanté Stevens at Peugeot Hatfield. Thank you for great service, keeping me up to date on the progress with my car and your compassion for my problems, I just wish more people were like you! As long as you are at Peugeot, I will book my services through you.
