Appalling Part Availability and Poor after Sales Service.

So after taking my Citroen DS5 in to Citroen Centurion for a worn/damaged wheel bearing October 2018 the service at the dealership was somewhat swift.

After a quick diagnosis the car indeed had a faulty wheel bearing and R5000 was claimed from my 3rd party warranty plan cover which paid out to have the parts ordered. I was promised 10-15 working days for delivery. The car was basically not safe to drive.

The part only arrived in the second week of January 2019! thats 3 moths spent waiting and calling in and checking with the dealership and their head office which isn't that helpful either as they never get back to you with the ETA for parts. there seems to be a problem here.

In January 2019 the car started leaking coolant at a rapid rate and thus could not be driven longs distances (5km) without topping up coolant. after chasing and chasing i was told i could bring it in on the 16th of January 2019 to have both the wheel bearing and coolant issue fixed. further diagnosis on the coolant loss issue which is a reoccurring fault (Had happened in 2015 part of a Recall campaign) I'm told that the parts required are on back-order and will take 21 days to arrive!

The car is currently at the dealership....

Let me be honest with anyone buying this Brand Peugeot/Citroen, you are going to be without a car at some point whilst waiting for parts to arrive! do yourself a favour and stay away from the poor after sales service! the promises made are not being honoured.

You are going to be mistreated as a customer, and even if your lucky to find a dealership that gives good customer service, parts availability for both Citroen and Peugeot cars is going to leave your appalled.

The wheel bearing part is not unique to the DS5, its used on the RCZ and 3008 and other DS models and costs £50 roughly R1000 for original OEM set (2) on ebay with shipping, I paid R2700 through my motor plan..

At this point all this is so funny to me, I've owned a DS3, and have recommended the C3 to a family member and friend but I've just shared all this with them and we are all DONE! Even now with no more Citroen, I will never consider even the new Peugeot cars ever !
