Petport

We recently returned to South Africa from Zambia, and I needed an agent to assist me with the importation of my 3 fur babies. I sent many requests for quotes, and I decided to choose Petport as my Mom had previously used their kennels, they were close to where we were going to stay and their rates were reasonable.

When I signed the contract and returned it, I must admit that I was worried that I had not made the correct decision as it took 3 days to allocate an agent!

I kept following up, and was eventually allocated Samantha, who was based in Cape Town. I made contact with Samantha telephonically and explained my concerns. Samantha calmly explained the procedures that needed to be followed and reassured me that everything would be taken care of.

Samantha was transparent in her dealings with me and regularly kept me up to date via email, so it was not necessary to call her daily to get feedback - this was very reassuring during a stressful period.

True to her word, the import permit was sent and we could finalise the plane booking. On the day of departure, Samantha contacted me via WhatsApp, where she kept me up to date throughout the day about their arrival in SA, the State Vet checks, and the movement to and settling in at the quarantine station. Over the next few days, she kept me informed as to how the animals were and how they responded to their handler.

Samantha informed me when the dogs were ready to be released from the quarantine station and they were delivered to our house by Seth who took photos of the reunion.

A few days after the reunion, Samantha sent me an email to find out how they had settled in. It was a pleasure dealing with Samantha, who clearly has a passion for her job and goes the extra mile to accommodate any concerns regarding the animals - or the pet parents for that matter!

I would definitely recommend Petport to anyone wanting to move animals into or out of South Africa.
