Urgent Complaint: Taste of Detergent in the chicken and sauce

Order from Pedro's Mount Edgecombe, Whitehouse Order Number 221

Please be informed on 6 September 2026 I purchased the R50 meal, quarter chicken, chips and roll for my child from Pedro's Mount Edgecombe Whitehouse. When my child opened the meal to consume he stated that it taste like detergent and told me to taste the sauce which I agree tasted like cleaning detergent. It had like the griller cleaning agent or Jeyes Blu smell and taste or something like the detergent that restaurants uses to clean their floors.

I've been ordering from the Mount Edgecombe branch for years... From the time it opened and did not have any complaints. The manager stated to my Husband that he was the first customer and she don't know what happened. My husband had to travel 20km to the store and back which is an inconvenience and cost complications.

This is a major health and safety issue. Consuming cleaning chemicals can cause severe illness.

I have kept the receipt and I returned the food to your store to further investigate what chemical was on that chicken and sauce. I've telephonically spoken to your store Manager Phumi and all your calls are recorded so you can go back and listen to the telephonic conversation.

Please contact me as soon as possible to resolve this issue.
