VERY OUTRAGEOUS BILLING

We moved into our new house in January, 2016 in a complex where electricity is being managed by PEC UTILITY.

Previous owners attested to never paying more than R1700 per month for the last five years despite their heavy electricity consuming appliances.

I obviously don't even have as much gadgets and appliances compared to the previous owners but this has been the sequence of my electricity bills since I moved into our house:

February - R1775.96

March - R1853.21

April- R2277

May- R2750.88

Despite switching off my geyser as at when due this month; I still got billed that amount.

I refer to this act as a professional broad day light ******* until a very explicit and concerete explanations are given for these discrepancies and outgrageous bills.

I however visited PEC branch at Silvertondale and no reason was given except that the bills were incured by me.

I really need an explanation in view of this as I don't know if it is even going to be very worse with a prepaid meter which they also get from Tshwane as distributor.

We take actual readings monthly, and this is the consumption registered by his meter. We use tariffs as prescribed by the local supply authority, in this case City of Tshwane.
The electricity meter can be tested at a fee of R600.00, should the meter be faulty, we will refund the R600.00 and correct the historical account based on 3 months average on the a new meter, should the meter not be faulty, the R600.00 will not be refunded. The R600.00 is payable upfront.
For the high water consumption I suggest the consumer get out an independent plumber to investigate for any possible leaks.
As per our previous mail, we can forward the photos of meter readings. Please confirm.
