SO CALLED PREPAID METER TOTAL *******
ZERO STARS!!! Only utterly disgusted with their lack of service. We have a PREPAID meter, yet our electricity has been disconnected due to apparent "non payment". We live in a sectional title complex and yesterday Tshwane disconnected the entire complex due to non payment. PEC was contacted, their reply..........sorry we have reported it and it will be attended to. After hours emergency was contacted and again they shrugged their shoulders. First of all we are paying extremely high tariffs for electricity plus an additional service fee. Secondly we have a PREPAID meter, WHICH MEANS OUR ELECTRICITY IS PAID FOR IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!! WHY is our electricity being disconnected. It has been more than 15 hours now. Honestly Tshwane cannot be worse and PEC can remove their "prepaid" meter and we will have a Tshwane meter installed.

This incident was very unfortunate and PEC can only apologize for the laps in service delivery. Although PEC have an internal division to manage council activities, there are no formal protocols in place with local authorities to recognize resellers when councils deviate from standard processes motivated by their bylaws. The City of Tshwane embarked on a collection project from early 2022 with commendable intent but volatile execution.
We can assure you that the recovery of utility consumption charges from your property is not at risk. PEC remain committed to ensure a reliable service and we apply all our efforts as major stakeholder in the utility supply chain to improve our relationship with councils.
Kind regards
