PEC Utilities Cape Town
I have numerous issues with this organisation in Cape Town. I am a resident and no one can explain to me how I can be in arrears when I am using a prepaid water meter and I am not allowed to purchase water under R100 where the other residents are and don't have this problem. I have contacted that on numerous occasions and no one is able to explain this. They just keep on insist that I must purchase a higher amount as no can explain this. Don't even talk about their after hours service as they arer rude and not willing to assist with queries. This is a pathetic service provider.

09 Jun 2025, 14:46 Dear Mrs Ward We take note of your review on Hello Peter. I’m sorry to hear how frustrating things have been, that’s never the experience we want for any of our clients. Your concerns, especially around after-hours support, are valid and important to us. We've taken note and will be raising this with the relevant department to ensure it is addressed appropriately. I’d like to offer some clarity on your billing and water tariff, as we understand these charges might be a bit confusing. Water Tariff Breakdown
- Vending Fee: A 5.41% charge is app**** to each water purchase.
- Water Basic Charge: R39.00 per month, which gives you access to the water facility. This is charged on the 1st of every month.
- Warranty Fee: R38.10 excl. VAT, calculated at R1.27 per day. This fee accrues on a rolling basis from each purchase and covers maintenance, malfunctions, or technical issues related to the meter.
- Monthly Service fee – R39.00 x 2 (May and June) = R78.00
- Warranty daily fee – R1.27 x 46 day ( 25 April – 9 June) = R58.42
