PEC money *****s!

PEC is a bunch of money making ********!

I have stayed in my flat for 2 years now where I have had no other option but to make use of PEC as I am renting and the owner does not want to put in a prepaid meter.

The first month I stayed in this flat my bill was R500. Month after it suddenly went sky high to R1000!!! (called in as i wanted an explanation as to how that is possible and I was told that they cannot tell me how) It was only myself and my son that was there. (He was at school during the day and I was at work) our bedtime was and still is around 20:30pm in the evening. Which means we were only active for about 4 hours each day as we only get home 17:00 or later. I do not even cook every night so the stove is not in use every night. We watch minimal TV and switch lights off whenever we are not in a room. Only other thing that runs 24/7 is my fridge.

They expect their monthly bill to be paid by the 18th of each month which I have explained to them is not possible as I only get paid on the 28th of each month, I was told that they cannot change the due date on their side but they do give you some lenience up until the end of the month to settle your bill. Every single month I am being threatened by them to disconnect my electricity because of late payment... It has even been disconnected quite a few times! And the worst of all is they expect R850+ for re-connection of electricity. (This amount is payable on top of your monthly invoice)

I am now once again seeking help as to how I can take this further and put a stop to this money making ********>!?>!
