Overcharged? Now forced to pay for a fault PEC made
fault at PEC
I am being charged for "someone's fault" they made from 2020 to 2021 on water and sanitation Levi's that was not properly charged on my statements. Don't know how they got to the amount, but all that money odls now put onto my July statement, almost R7k on July's statement!!! They mentioned once on a repayment option, that was never again communicated and said I never gave them feedback. As I was waiting for the Ombudsman to assist in this matter - still waiting for the response from them. I clearly said I will not be paying for someone's fault on their side, but I am just getting told it is my responsibility to pay. In the real world if a company makes a mistake, it is written off for the company's expense, and not the client. I have been making queries since the start with them on my high amount on my statements and asked to see the calibration certificate for the electricity meter in the complex - which they can not give, only sends me fotos of the "meter readings" taken, which does not help as I want to know if they can prove that it is only my electricity that is connected on that meter. My complex home 3 bed with 3 people average per month on R2800 to R3k and more per month. My owner also asked the question why our electricity is so high as they're a family of 5 in a huge house and their electricity average is about R2800 p.m.
