Inhuman treatment by PEC Metering in Pietermaritzburg

I would like to warn anyone wanting to buy or rent in a place where PEC metering is the water &electricity supplier to stay away. This is the most greedy and ************ company I have ever ever come across. They charge ridiculously exorbitant tariffs which are unjustified and ******** for lack of a better word. We are in Pietermaritzburg. It's clear they don't take meter readings, they just charge whatever they want and their rates per unit are not stable, they go up every month, anything between R6 and R10 per unit of electricity. My bill has been moving up from R4000 now at R6000 per month for a flat, it definitely will be R10 000 by December with 4 people and no heater is being used even in Winter. They reconnect you even when you have asked them to wait for a certain date while you try to get the utility money but they still disconnect so that you pay the R1800 reconnection fee in this economic climate. We are drowning because of PEC metering. Very cruel and insensitive to consumers.
