Disrespectful Cape Town water consultant
This company treats people with disrespect. The meter I had and been using became faulty on the 8th so they came in and fixed it however, they refuse to load the correct amount of units I should have left of water. They want to shortchange me of prepaid water that I had purchased before. The consultant I dealt keeps disrespecting me and expecting me to be happy when they do not want to reimburse what is fair to me as a customer.

14 Apr 2023, 09:01Dear Sethu, PEC takes note of your grievance placed on Hello Peter. We have investigated the matter and confirm the following: The prepaid water meter at your apartment was faulty and had to be replaced. The meter replacement was actioned on Saturday, 08 April 2023. Unfortunately, there was no way to confirm the credits left on the old meter as the meter was blank. The service consultant manually calculated the balance left on the old meter based on prior purchases and making use of an average consumption of 125L per person, per day. The service consultant found that an amount of 4.26KL of water was purchased in March 2023. Total purchased from 01 November to date 17KL. Number of days lapsed from 01 November to 08 April equals to 159 multip**** by 125l per day equals 19.875KL. Although the amount of water consumed based on the service consultant’s calculations exceeded the amount purchased, the service consultant reimbursed you with 3.1KL on the day the meter was replaced. After looking into the calculations provided by yourself claiming another 3.1KL as the apartment were not occupied for some time, she reimbursed you with an additional 3.1KL. According to the feedback I received from the service consultant the dispute was settled and both parties were happy with the end result.
