Deliberate errors to score R125 penalty over 24 hours
I'm writing on Hellopeter because I'm not getting any response from PJN (via email and over the phone)
30 August 2022 would have been my last installment of R186.00, instead I received messages saying payment has been unsuccessful due to insufficient funds I panicked and checked my bank balance... I had funds. What could be wrong? I emailed PJN asking them to process the payment again. I even tried to process the payment from my side using the PJN app now it says the pin is incorrect. 31st August another messages "payment failed again" now with a balance of R311. 00... ***!!! from R186 to R311? 😲 due on the 6 September.
I'm very disappointed at PJN and their delay tactics... does this mean on the 7 September another R125 will be added to my balance in order for them to make profit? This is b***s***😡
At the core - PayJustNow is FREE for you to use as long as you pay on time. You also pay Capitec monthly bank fees and transaction fees - it was their responsibility to communicate any issues to you.
"There was a change from Capitec side on the 3rd of August, Capitec made a change to include the recurring payments into the *CNP limit. Capitec made this change to put the customer back in control of their CNP limits. This change was communicated internally and to customers that have recurring transactions and have a zero CNP limit. This will no longer be possible."
*CNP means Card Not Present
Although this is official commentary - we know that Capitec suffered a system wide failure on the 3rd August. As you know since the 3rd August Capitec banking services have been severely disrupted. We at PayJustNow have been there with you every day since and understand your frustration.
What we did? (up to the 15th August)
- We identified any instalments that have been affected by this outage.
- If the failed payment resulted in a late fee - we have removed the late fee. Why? Because we know it is NOT YOUR Fault.
- We have moved the due date (to the 15th August) out allow time for you to do your part to ensure you don't get charged a late fee again.
However, this issue persisted, far beyond the 15th. It has not been sustainable to continue to sweep up behind Capitec failed payments.
