Beware of Pay Just Now

<div>Beware of Pay Just Now I decided to try Pay Just Now because it seemed too good to be true and made my first purchase of R21 500 using Pay Just Now on 17th May 2022. I then noticed on my bank statement that TWO deductions were made on the 17th May 2022. I e-mailed them regarding this 'double deduction' on the 20th May 2022. Natasha Hughes rep**** 5 DAYS later stating 'Kindly note that the payment that you are referring to was made manually and therefore we are not able to reverse the payment as you had manually authorized the payment form your side' PATHETIC AND DELAYED RESPONSE!!! Surely their system shouldn't allow 2 payments to be authorised on the day of purchase. It defeats the purpose of 'easy budget payments' Secondly, even if the error of 'manual authorizing' was made, how difficult is it in today's age to reverse funds back into a client's account? Thirdly, my final payment will go off on 1 July 2022. That means that all 3 payments would have gone off within a 6 week period. I was better off just using my credit card making the purchase. Will definitely not recommend Pay Just Now as they're just another dubious company that have set up a scheme to dupe consumers.</div>

Hi Ziyaad, manual payments require you to select the payment and then authorise the payment with your PIN or OTP. Our payment option is free for you to use - no interest and no fees (so long as you pay on time). We incur a transaction fee for every instalment and if we simply reversed the payment you made manually (albeit erroneously) we would incur a significant cost for that reversal and again when the debit became due. Done repeatedly, we would never be able to offer you or any other consumer, an interest and fee free payment option. If you used your credit card - you would have paid interest on top of your monthly fee - but that would have been your choice. Any bank or finance option would never reverse an instalment to you - they would not need to because it becomes available to spend again. But if they did, I am almost certain they would but for a fee.

Furthermore, your second instalment would have been due on the 1st of June and the final instalment on 1 July - so we did not shorten the repayment period and we did not attempt to  "dupe" you in any way -  we just were not in a position to give you the answer you wanted.

Whilst regretful that you were not entirely satisfied with your 1st experience we trust that once the dust settles you will recognise that we are an easy budget facility and are anything but dubious - due to the fact that what were able to do was :
1) offer you a facility significant enough for this value purchase in under 3 minutes of you starting your signup - with no hoops to jump through to send documents and the like.
2) respond comprehensively and consistently to your query from our contact centre and on this forum.
