3 weeks ago I received an email from Pathcare that we have a credit of in excess of R6000 I call them to make sure that this isn't a hoax **** email and it is confirmed they do owe us money. From last year when I gave birth. I tell them well the account is in my husband's name and he isn't in the country nor is he South African and therefore does not have a SA bank account. We reside outside of SA and I was here to give birth. I ask what do we do in this case as I do have a SA bank account being South African. The lady says my husband should write a letter confirming his permission for the money to be put in my bank account he does this and we add his details. A week passes and we receive another email we should now add ID details we did this before but again we share scanned copies of passports. We receive another email to say we must now produce proof of payment. Bearing in mind that I gave birth last year June. I call and ask about said proof of payment because I don't have any as my husband works abroad and is not South African we made all payments at Pathcare at the hospital in Constantia paying via POS. So though the lady suggested going to the bank to ask for proof of payment we never paid via EFT. The lady says we need to produce proof of payment because the amount is so big. And as I shared my husband's passport we should now share his ID which we did. And Pathcare has once again gone quiet. The problem that I have here in now producing a proof of payment that I don't have is that Pathcare emailed me confirmed to me that in fact they charged us more than they should've and instead of making payment and returning to us what we've been overcharged they have gone quiet. And I could call again but I am certain that there will be a long silence and then the lady will ask me to share my ID because I only shared my passport and then it will be another week of silence. For me it is the principle at stake here. I didn't go to Pathcare in fact if they didn't email me I would've been none the wiser that I was being ****med. But now I need to jump through crazy hoops when in doing their finances they noticed that I was asked to make payment on the same account twice. Its ********* to say the least. And all I want is a decent response to how will this matter be resolved because I can also call only so many times and surely deserve a solid answer.
