Pathcare service appaling.

Unfortunately selecting a star rating is mandatory. Pathcare not worthy of 1 star.

In March 2021, my brother who resides in Cape Town was visiting family in East London, he was admitted to St Dominic's Hospital in East London. He is not on a medical aid. I had to open an account to have him admitted and I paid cash at the door. Pathcare records will show that ALL services rendered by Pathcare East London in March 2021 were paid in full.

About a month after he was discharged and back in Cape Town, I received an account from Pathcare for R325.50. I queried this amount and was told that there is an amount outstanding from a previous visit to Pathcare by my brother. I received an email dated 28 April 2021 from Pathcare which stated: "Kindly be advised the amount of test done was R625.50. The first invoice send out of that particular invoice was dated 07/04/2021. Please note it shows your payment of R300.00 received on that invoice number ***.” That is INCORRECT. Invoice number *** was for SERVICE DATE 04/03/2020, almost 12 months earlier at a facility in Cape Town and NOT East London where I reside. Upon querying this matter in April 2021, I was told that the Pathcare accounting system has tracked my brother’s whereabouts and allocated the outstanding amount of R352.50 to my account. One doesn't have to be an accounting genius to know that this practice is *******. This outstanding amount is not for my account! On 23 February 2022 I e-mailed the above information to Pathcare asking for the name of the person who authorised the ******* transfer of outstanding monies owed by my brother who resides in Cape Town onto my account. I have subsequently received a phone call from a debt recovery firm wanting to negotiate a settlement on this account. No surprise that despite an automated e-mail reply from Pathcare committing to respond within 3 business days that I have had zero response.
