Is Pathcare using "invalid" covid-19 tests to make money?

It is with great regret that I have to write this review. I'm not one for bad reviews but after what happened today, really infuriated me. My family visited South Africa. On Wednesday afternoon (5th of May 2021), my family went to get tested for covid in Kuruman Pathcare. My father and his wife are from Botswana. They were supposed to leave for Botswana on Friday, but their results were not available. Friday afternoon (7th of May), the results of my stepmom and the kids were available, but not my father's. My father went back on Saturday, and they gave him the excuse that his test were invalid. The problem came in that he had to take a new test but in the meantime, my stepmom, and the kids' results would be invalid by the time they get my father's to actually leave the country for Botswana. At the end of the day, my father spend over R3400 on their first test, and today (8th May 2021) they had to retest and spend the same amount again. I personally feel that this was a problem from their side as they should ensure that the tests are done correctly. Also, to charge them the full amount for a second test is just ridiculous since it's their fault that my father's test came back invalid. My father spend nearly R7000 just on tests. My father called Pathcare in Kimberley to explain the situation and they simply said that my father has to pay, again. I mean, we would've appreciated it they could've at least let us pay half of it. It makes me wonder, how many of us have been ****med with invalid tests just to get retested that you have to pay for, again? This is just ludicrous.
