VAT NOT REFLECTED ANYWHERE ON TGE QUOTATION
They issue quotations exclusive of Vat and the Vat amount or inclusive amount is reflected no where on the quote. This is a contravention of the VAT act 89 of 1991. You are required to pay 50% upfront and when you go to collect the invoice has an outstanding amount more than the 50% you paid. On enquiry that is when you are told that its including 15% VAT. I am going to report them to SARS.

24 Jan 2024, 13:30Rene a manager from Partserve called me. She showed me a follow-up emailed quote which l didn't open because l already knew the price. The 2nd quote reflected Vat. The first quote which l made my decision on and paid the 50% deposit on simply says exc Vat. I also have another email where the amounts are communicated but still no total price including Vat. Rene argued that the quote says exc vat so l should have added Vat. That is not what the law says, that the consumer should carry a calculator around to add Vat. I read out for her that the law says the final amount must be shown on the quote and she disagrees. She is the national customer service manager and she does not agree with what the law says. She is going to discus with other parties and revert. I was not given accurate information to make my decision.

24 Jan 2024, 17:21Hi Patricia, thank you for highlighting this. It seems that the job summary email detailed all quote excluding VAT but the actual quotes on our online job tracking system as well as the actual quote emailed to you reflect VAT as per VAT act. We have addressed the summary document with our web team who will make the necessary change. As a gesture of good will we will refund you the VAT that you were charged and hope this resolves this matter. Thanks again for highlighting this and we look forward to being of service to you in the future.
