PartServe inefficiency

The switch-on button of my printer Canon LBP 6020 was not working and I took it to PartServe at Unit 2, Central Park. 4, Platinum Crescent ,Montague Gardens, Cape Town, on 25th September for a quote. ( Job number JNC32920 )

I received a quote for R2393.52 inclusive of Vat which I declined as the printer had only cost as new from KMP for R450 about 4 years earlier. I sent an email to Part Serve accordingly and informed them that I would collect the printer bbut received no reply

KMP had stopped operating in South Africa, but a lady, Erica that used to work with them recommended me to phone Michael at Wyatt's business machines ( Cell *** ), Michael collected the printer from me, from my apartment in Muizenberg and called me a few hours later to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the printer and he will return it immediately with a test page,

Michael did not charge me and said that he had just reset the board. I insisted I give him something and he eventually agreed to take some lunch money, and the only cash I had was R100, which I gave him. The printer is working 100%.
