Partserve Channel Support - Sandton PATHETIC as Usual
As an IT business, we have made use of Partserve Channel Support Sandton on many instances. Actually, we are forced to make use of this PATHETIC organisation as they seem to hold the monopoly on repair services to most of the computer and printer brands sold in SA. Over the years that we have made use of them, I can't recall ONE instance where we received good service. The front desk staff are the worst people to deal with. They always come across as rude and unwilling to help. They are ALWAYS unhappy. The "service manager" is totally USELESS so it's a total waste of time trying to get her to resolve any issue.
Of late we booked a customers DELL Vostro in for repair. It had a broken hinge. On the same day that we booked it in,(2024-11-04) we received an update on the DATE AUDIT that the unit was ready to be collected. The update was posted just over an hour after it was booked in. Obviously we knew that it was impossible for Partserve to have had the unit assessed and repaired in that time. Nevertheless, we started following up on the status of the unit several days later. When we did so, the feedback that we received that the laptops motherboard was faulty and the unit uneconomical to repair. After MANY calls to the *** number, each time speaking to two different people, they BOTH said that they would need to get a technician to comment on the issue and that they would call me back. They NEVER called back even though they promised to do so. This is standard for Partseve as it was not the first time that I experienced this. Due to the non-response to my calls we decided to collect the unit from them on the 2024-11-19. We brought the unit to the office and tried to power it on. VOILA, the laptop powered up. When we decided to open the laptop up, we noticed that the back cover had most of its securing *****s missing. Nevertheless we opened the unit up and also found that several *****s were missing on the inside of the unit. Again, Partserve were the first to open this unit yet they slap it together only using one or two *****s here and there and then return it to the customer. We have sourced all the components that we need to repair this unit ourselves. Even shipping the components in from overseas will cost us $81.59 including shipping. We have the skills to fit the parts when they arrive on the 11th of December 2024. I really don't know how Partserve are still in business and why brands like HP and DELL associate themselves with this pathetic entity.
