PartServ... more like NeverServ!!!

Upon first approach, the process went smoothly for dropping off my laptop off to get repaired via the warranty with MSI. You are almost forced to go to PartServ because no other merchant deals with MSI devices. I was told my battery is faulty and they ordered the part. It's took weeks for the part to arrive. My initial complaint of the device was that the CPU was heating to 94 degrees Celsius just by turning the laptop on, the cooling fans were operating at almost plane turbine speed to try cool the device as well as the CPU usage was at 100% when no programs are open or any application. All of thisbwas tracked through the onboard MSI diagnostics which I sent through screen shots of it all as proof.

The job was accepted in house and the device was left at their offices to be repaired. Claim was approved with warranty. I got notification to pick the device up over a month later only to see that the battery last only 45 minutes unplugged which it's spec say it should last up to 4 hours. I then saw the heating issue was not resolved as well as the fans are still making the laptop take flight. The CPU issue also was not rectified.

The device was sent back through the same process and warranty was accepted to order now a new heat sync and a main board for the laptop. Once again taking about a month to sort this out. I then receive the device back and now once again the same issues still stayed and I begin to wonder if they even did anything at all to the laptop because nothing is rectified. The same issues continue to plague this device. At this point I'm very annoyed and I request that MSI just replace my device because nothing is being fixed or it's just a faulty device of theirs. I sent the device back... Now Partserv wanted to deny my claim because warranty is now expired but I argued to say they didn't complete any of the jobs that were under warranty. They kept asking me for documents as the needed to submit an invoice number to MSI to push the claim and my device was ordered online via a Telkom contract which gave only a delivery not an an ongoing monthly bill for payment to show the device is being paid. All the relevant SKU numbers, device serial numbers, waybill delivery numbers, Telkom bills, suppliers details on the box and all barcodes were sent to them and they flat out refuse that it is good enough to accept as proof of purchase. I have emails from Telkom that was sent to them saying that the waybill with device descriptions and Telkom monthly bill is their proof of purchase.

I'm ready for the ombudsman to step in because between PartServ and MSI they honestly don't know how to do their job of tracking the device via supplier information, delivery tracking details and device serial details. Never in my life have I seen a tech repair company not know how to track SKU numbers to find origin or supplier, then move to order details via all the information provided.

PartServ has so many 1 star reviews and they don't seem to want to change that. Their aim is not excellence and whoever is in charge doesn't seem to put their clientele needs first. They use delay tactics to make people fed up with trying to get it fixed and make the customers rather spend more money through a private repairman while taking in all the "inspection fees" for those that aren't in warranty.

It's honestly a joke. I'm still fighting with them to get their MSI direct contact to talk to so that I can cut them out of the picture.

Anyone has recommendations please do post them.

Hi Wesley, thank you for your review. Apologies you are battling with your repair unfortunately all warranty validations have to be done by the vendors before we can commence the work. This is the same with all the vendors we represent (Not just MSI) and unfortunately the proof of purchase is critical to do this. As you can imagine product is shipped into the country to distribution who may have it for a period of time and then they sell it to a retailer who also may have it for a period of time. So warranty based on shipment from the vendor may have expired but the warranty only starts when the device is sold to the end user and this information we do not have hence the requirement for the proof of purchase in order to update the warranty for you. We will contact you shortly to see how we can solve this with you.
