Appalling service from PartServe for Lenovo and Pinnacle

A Lenovo laptop has spent a month of its guarantee period having a whole lot of nothing being done at PartServe who seem to be keeping the laptop hostage.

All that was wrong with it was that it wouldn't burn to CDs so we thought varsity holidays were a good time to get the repair done. After all, the paper I signed at Pinnacle, who sold me the computer through an initiative of Stellenbosch University, mentioned a two-day turnaround.

I asked for the computer back after a week but then it was too late - "unit under assessment" was the best I got via the hassled people at Pinnacle.

Sometimes the message from PartServe (when they can be got hold of) is that the battery is not charging - there was never anything wrong with the battery.

I am told they don't keep parts on their premises, so once the possibly maybe get round to identifying a fault, they have to get the parts couriered to their workshop. This is a very popular laptop - should they not keep parts? Is this a way to run a business?

I am also not impressed with Lenovo which uses PartServe as its authorised agent. Use someone efficient and responsive please! I don't want to use up the guarantee period by having the computer being "fixed".

Still waiting for that laptop!

For the record, the repair reference (CSO) number is 198678. Not that PartServe Cape Town will see this or care...
