Unprofessional
I have recently had surgery to my arm and unable to wash my hair at home. I made an appointment at Partners Hair - Gardens. What an horrific experience. Here is the email I sent to Partners on Sunday 15 August - I have still not received a response. Good Morning - I am writing to complain about Partners Gardens Center, Cape Town I recently had surgery to my arm and am therefore unable to wash my hair at home. I called on Thursday and made an appointment at Partners Gardens Center for today at 10:00. First of all I was kept waiting for 15 minutes, finally I got to the station, the hairdresser asked what I wanted done. Just a wash and blow. She questioned if I didn’t want a cut, I said no, she said “are you sure?” Of course I was sure, all I needed was a wash. She asked if I was there for the R190 special, I didn’t know about it but thought, sure. At the wash station there is a sign for R190 wash and dry special - great. She then said she would use the Violet shampoo on my hair, at no time did she say it would be an extra charge. I dont like the Violet - I have bottle of Kérastase Bain Ultra Violet and never use it as it leaves a purple tinge to my hair (I am naturally silver/grey). When I got back to the drying station I commented on the purple colour she said it would wash out … why was this not done properly during the washing and rinsing? I have a ridge of purple on my skin around my face - not happy about that either. She had no idea of natural flow of my hair and left me with hair on my face while she went to hand in her slip. On check out I am presented with a bill for R265 - see attached. I queried why not the R190 as advertised and told its for the violet shampoo. R75 for a shampoo I didn’t ask for is a *******. This is not good business practice. She sat there waiting for her tip - by then I was so angry about the treatment in the Salon that I was not going to add extra or give her cash. I am not surprised that the salon has a 3.5 rating on Google (I should have checked this before booking) but its convenient and I am not allowed to drive so I to an Uber there and back home. The first try with my credit card was declined as the transaction did not complete (see reversal receipt) second try it went through - so far there is no reversal showing on my statement. I dont mind paying whatever the price is for a wash and dry (I usually go to Frank Fowden in Waterfront @ R400+) but did not this time as I am recovering as stated above - I do object to ‘add ons’ that are not discussed and sloppy hairdressing. Brushing through knots rather than working them out. Leaving the customer with hair on their face, not caring if the customer was satisfied or indicating that she was done, is poor service. I expect to see the reversal reflected by COB on Monday, if not I will be taking this further - its not about the R75 extra charge its the principle of the matter, one expects some modicum of professionalism and not to be ********** in the process. I dont want a free hair anything, I expect an apology and refund of the R75 when actioning the reversal.
