Partners Hair Design for men, Somerset Mall

I have been to Partners hair design for men in Somerset Mall three times now. The first two times were fine, nothing to write home about but fine nonetheless. The second time though I saw a hairdresser that looked like she would rather be chased by a lion in a forrest than cut my hair.

However this post is about the third experience on Thursday 9/11/2023. Now, let me say I am an English speaking person. I can speak okay Afrikaans but alas I grew up in an English speaking household. I can't help that. It is just how is.

The woman who cut my hair (who actually cut it the first time I went) strangely seemed to take umbrage with my language of choice and went out of her way to point out this difference.

I got comments like, in relation to the music playing in the mall:

'Oh, I don't know what you English boys listened to'

'Oh I think you soaties listen to Frank Sinatra'

Comments like that. Weird comments. I felt distinctly put out and that they would rather I wasn't there. I feel referring to a customer like this is quite rude. If they would rather Afrikaans speakers frequent their establishment and not English then I'd suggest they put up a sign and I won't bother.

I won't be going back.
