Unable to book for birthday

<p>I am appalled by the fact that I was unable to book a birthday party lunch for my nephews 5th birthday. </p> <p>Several weeks ago I went to Panarottis uShaka and spoke to one of the managers regarding organising a birthday lunch for my nephew who was out fro the UK over his 5th birthday. We planned to go to the waterpark in the morning and then have a birthday party lunch at Panarottis where the kids could make their own pizza, have a few balloons and some cake. The manager that I spoke to was extremely friendly. She provided me with the kids menu options, said that I should just call and book closer to the time and that it would be fine for us to drop the birthday cake off at the restaurant early in the morning before going to the water park and that it would be kept for lunch.</p> <p> </p> <p>Today we tried to phone and book for a birthday party (a booking of 17 people). Initially we were told that we could not book as "its a busy time of the year". On pressing the issue we were told that we could book - but only if we were willing to come at 10am. Before being told again that "Panarottis does not do bookings over busy periods".</p> <p> </p> <p>How can a chain that advertises itself as child friendly ..and actually offers birthday invitations on their website not allow a birthday booking outside of certain periods? Are birthday pizza partys only for children willing to eat at 10am on workdays outside of holidays? I am truly disgusted, both at the fact that I appear to have been misled by the manager I spoke with previously who was very helpful (I was quite clear at the time that it was for lunch on a tuesday during the easter holiday), and at the fact that panarottis misleads the public by advertising services that clearly are limited.</p> <p> </p> <p>Thankfully another restaurant was happy to allow us to make a lunch time booking as well as to bring in a birthday cake so the day has not been completely spoilt, but unfortunately a 5 year old is now very dissapointed that he will not be having a pizza making party with his friends after a morning at the aquarium.</p>
