Panarottis Cresta - Dishonest and rude servers

On Saturday 12/07/2025 we hosted my nephews 1st birthday party at Panarottis ottis Cresta.

Firstly the server who was waiting our table "Thandi" repeatedly dismissed our requests to bring out the birthday cake before birthday boy fell asleep.

Then she was dishonest with the host after all the attendees had paid their bills and the mother of the birthday boy had to pay for the party fee She claimed that 17 children had been served and not paid for (the number of children booked for was 15), however all the additional children who were not invited had been paid for already by the attendees who had brought them.

She then claimed that she was not tipped by any of the other guests at the table and demanded that the birthday boys mother give her a tip, however multiple guests have confirmed that they did Infact tip her when paying their bills separately. The situation escalated when she then left the bill with short change (after being tipped again), and then knocking off and leaving.

When the remaining guests went to fetch their change so the party could pack up and leave, and found that their change was short, they were then assist by a gentleman named "Ntando"

He was incredibly dismissive, rude and treated the guests like their enquiries were unimportant. When we noticed that Ntando was not bothered with assisting us, we asked to speak to a manager or somone above him and he claimed to be the manager or the highest ranking person in the establishment, so our concerns would not get any further acknowledgement other than his. So we left the establishment with short change and no assistance.

A few minutes later we got a call from a wonderful lady named Ncumisa who said she was the manager on duty and had heard mention of the incident. She has been in communications with us since then, listening to us voicing our concerns and suggesting solutions and has been apologetic and all round amazing at dealing with this issue. She is truly an asset to Panarottis Cresta.

However in this case the few bad apples have truly spoilt the reputation of the whole barrel. I don't think I would be comfortable returning to Panarottis Cresta with the knowledge that servers would openly be dishonest and rude to paying patrons supporting their establishment.

Thandi had no reason to demand tips knowing that she had already recieved them and furthermore leaving short change and leaving before the patrons had been sorted

Ntando was rude, dismissive and painfully unhelpful, he treated our guests like their concerns unimportant. In fact the entire ordeal was a big fat joke to him, seeing as he had a grin on his face for most of this ordeal.
