THREADBARE FRONT TYRES - long term rental

Yesterday I went to receive my car hire from PACE RENTALS - Johannesburg and was horrified to note on inspection, that the two front tyres were threadbare and indeed not roadworthy. Also noted a lot of moisture inside the left front headlights. When I asked about the service history of the car (as surely the tyres would have been picked up) I was told by the manager that its 50 000km service history had been missed .... the mileage was 53 400 km. The tyres were acknowledged by the manager Andrew but he thought it was just an mild oversight in their busy schedule. Seriously ? I have made a complaint with SAVRALA and have photos as evidence as this could have ended up in a serious accident and even deaths. This is the first time I have made any complaints about car rental companies but I feel it is a serious one. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR TYRES
