OWING ARREARS ON A COURSE I NEVER EVEN DID

I app**** to study an Human Resource National Certificate. I was meant to be paying R400 per month. In order for me to register I needed to pay my first installment which I did. I was told to make an EFT or pay at Spar. I made an EFT. They took more than a week to finally locate my payment. When I received the first textbook I decided not to do the course. I believed I could cancel at any point. I did not want my money back, just for the course to be cancelled. I was contacted the following month for payment and agreed to pay but I never received any further correspondence, books or assistance from the college. If they had found my payment earlier I would have been able to cancel earlier. It is not my fault. Now I am receiving emails that I owe thousands when I never received any books or submitted any assignments nor have I done any exams. I have not attended a single class, I was never contacted by the college after making a payment. This is not fair at all. I was not even told that I would be contracted to these payments and that I could not cancel it.
