Premium prices for inferior quality and service

Late last year(2019) I decided to get new glasses and decided to take advantage of Osmans buy 1 get 1 free special. I took 1 clear lense and 1 sunglasses with the anti-scratch and anti-glare options as well as the transition on the clear lense. The eye test and assistance with choosing the frames went very well. I got an sms and the clear lense glasses arrived quickly. However the lenses already had quiet noticeable scratches on them even though I had paid for anti-scratch. The assistant advised that I should go ahead and use the glasses while they ordered another set of new lenses. I will come back to the clear lense issue in a sec. After not getting feedback for my sunglasses, I decided to follow up. I was advised that they did indeed arrive and they apologized for not phoning. The sunglasses were not even tinted. They had to be sent back to the lab to retint. After an sms and yet again another trip I was still not happy. I had chosen a grey tint but the sunglasses looked red in the sun. Coming back to the clear lenses. Around 25 Aug 2020, yes thats right almost 1 year later, I get an sms to collect my new clear lenses. When I reached the store, I was told that I have to hand in the frame and they will send it back to the lab to cut and fit. Highly irritated at this point, I was told that they will send the lenses to the Springs Mall branch(LAB) and I can go to the Springs branch and get them fitted while I wait. I eventually went to the Springs branch 3 weeks later when I got a break from work. After been made to wait some 30 mins and not been able to find the new lenses I was asked by the rude receptionist why did I not got to Carnival Mall branch as I was instructed in the sms. I explained the arrangement a second time but the receptionist didnt seem interested in listening or assisting. After an attempt to explain for a third I was told, oh she does not work in the Carnival Mall branch and that she does not know what they do there. Furious at this stage I told her that they might as well throw the lenses in the bin and that I will never purchase from their stores again. She smiled at me and said ok sir, we will do that.

I am now stuck with scratched lenses and a redish tint sunglasses that I have paid a premium for. I would not advise anyone to use their services. You will get a better deal at better prices and service with a smile at Spec Savers.
