VERY DISAPPOINTING - NO WONDER THE TEST IS CHEAP
I was impressed with the price for the test and decided to try these optometrists as I am 80 years old and cant's afford the normal rates. I was told that they can do nothing for me as I would have to go for cataract surgery. They referred me to the specialist and everything was set up. This surgery business bothered me and I went for a second opinion where I was told that yes, I did have cataracts but there was absolutely NO NECESSITY for surgery as I still have better vision than many people younger than I. It wasn't even necessary to update my current lens prescription as they were good for another 2 years. I feel really disappointed that they obviously saw cataracts and immediately sent me to a specialist (which cost me quite a bit for the consultation), not to mention how much cataract surgery would have cost me.

The Optometrist that tested you confirmed that she tested you, but that she did not refer you to an Ophthalmologist. However, she remembered that she referred your
Mother for Cataracts. She recalls that she had the discussion with her that new spectacles would not have helped with improvement of her vision due to the cataracts.
She also explained that due to health concerns, she wanted your Mother to go for the consultation and get an opinion regarding potential surgery, as she gets older, and while her health is better, it is maybe better to do it sooner than later. She made the appointment with the Ophthalmologist for your mother. The feedback received from the doctor confirmed the advanced cataracts and that she was scheduled for surgery in May. Apparently the surgeries were cancelled yesterday by your Mother.
We care about your eye health, and not about making money, otherwise we would have made her new glasses. The Optometrist truly just wanted what was best for your Mother.
We do understand that the thought of the surgery can be scary, but it was not our intention to turn her away, but rather to give her the opportunity to have better vision later on in her life.
