Almost but not quite and you get what you pay for

I would give the branch staff high marks on customer service (friendliness, etc), payment plans and the selection of stunning frames for all sizes. The premise of the business is an R99 eye test, which is a big draw card. Nothing wrong with that. However, I got the impression that I was sold on multifocal and add-ons. I've worn a single lens since age 7, and I am currently almost 50 and said this during the eye test. My work involves looking at a computer screen for most of the day. The last eye test I had before Optique, they measured my old pair for the starting point. Here, besides what type of lens my old pair was, she wasn't really interested in as much of that history as I am used to. The following week, what I got was horrible. The spectacles were fabulous; however, the vision was refracted, distorted and tunnel vision in some parts. She pushed back that I was warned of an adjustment period, which I can confirm. However, if I go to a GP, for example, with a problem, a good doctor will listen to my history and recommend the best possible solution. In any case, she convinced me to try them for a week. It wasn’t until I got home in front of a computer screen that I realised how wrong these spectacles were. The tunnel vision I described earlier. After my continued complaints, they offered to replace it with a single lens. My old pair of spectacles is still much better than Optique. I don't see the point of going back again after this. I'm going to another optometrist brand I trust with the Optique frame. My take you get what you pay for. They will try and upsell, which is normal these days, but the quality of the end product isn't a guarantee. For the first time in the years of warring spectacles, this is the first, I've come across these issues with all these issues. My takeaway away I'm never using Optique again. I love their frames and the variety for my face compared to other optometrists.

It's quite okay. I have an appointment with another optometrist. To get a second opinion.

Yup I've had lenses redone. And the new optometrist could tell that Optique was trying to accommodate distance and single vision this. However one of the lenses was still off. Anyway what's done is done. The frames are great at Optique but never eye testing here again.

Hi Vuyo
Thank you for the feedback.
Yes, the Optometrist did accommodate your distance and reading prescription because that is what you needed. Some people do not adapt to multifocals and we are sorry that they did not work for you the first time they were prescribed.

The point is, the second attempt was still wrong. Got a new lens from a different optometrist. much better results. I guess upselling your customers into buying multifocals without knowing what your customers' needs are is the new normal. Make more money at any cost. I sit at a computer all day judging colour and resolution, amongst other things. Multifocals are not the best for me. Your optometrist even tried to put lipstick on the *** she sold by suggesting I adjust my head so I could see through the near field part of the lens. Now imagine sitting like that all day, that could lead to back and or neck issues. I would've gladly bought two pairs of glasses if I had been swayed that way. Complete waste of money, the experience I had at your branch. The only saving grace I love the frame. Also, if older folks and their needs aren't welcomed at your establishment, don't take our money.
