I received an SMS reminding me of a subscription I have which costs R50/day, which I never subscribed to.

On checking with my service provider Vodacom, my account has already been debited with R1150, that is 23 worth of billing. There is nothing on my February statement which would have alerted me to this subscription that I never subscribed to, only the SMS received today. So something doesn't add her, as it should have shown on my February statement, at least 3 days.

So in a month, they can ***** R1550 from you, for one subscription you never subscribed to. This is theft.

Now try get hold of them on the number on the sms to get a refund.... The number is engaged. Got a number from Vodacom, no answer. But where is Vodacom responsibility in this, they block your account if they think there is suspicious activity but a premium service can just debit your account? Surely they should send you an sms, to confirm subscription?

I think if you by accident subscribe to a service/s which cost more that R10 per day, the company should have an obligation to send you a daily reminder, so you can react sooner.
