Unilateral Cancellation of Bond Protector Insuarance
I Raymond du Plessis, is deeply disappointed with OOBA Home Lone Insurance for the unilateral cancellation of my life insurance on my Bond. When I took out my bond with FNB, I also took out my compulsory buildings Protector Policy. After I received my documentation, I found that my house 451, 19 Badenhorst Street, Naudeveille, Welkom 9459 was incorrectly insured by the insurer, more specifically OOBA stated that it was a tile roof, but it is a sink roof. I launched a claim regarding the deteroriation of my roof. OOBA came and took pictures thereafter they never returned to fix my roof. On the 09 of May 2019 I received correspondence from OOBA that my Building Protector Policy has been cancelled. The author of the said letter is from Lamese Walker-Carlse Premium Administrator
I have never instructed, nor have I provided OOBA with a written letter with the approval of the Lender to cancel my insurance. OOBA's Bond Protector Policy is clear: The Life Insured, with the consent of the Lender, giving 30 (thirty) days notice of the Life Insured’s intention to cancel the Policy.
I have never instructed the Lender nor have I drew-up a notice in cancelling my policy. OOBA is placing both myself and the Lender in great risk. I will also inform the Lender, which is FNB that OOBA has unilaterally cancelled my Bond Protector Policy, OOBA will also be liable for all the oustanding fees, which I was paying before they cancelled my insurance. I will also provide the Lender with all my bank statements that Proof I payed my policy with the inception of the Loan, unit OOBA decided to cancel it.
I will also be taking the matter to the Ombudsman.
