Taking Further Steps With Consumer Tribunal

I am from KZN and my house was severely affected by the recent flooding. We have home insurance with Ooba who it seems is partnered with Brolink and they rejected our claim for damages occurred by a mudslide . We have had to pay multiple engineers to assess and report in order to dispute their decision to reject our claim. Engineers have stated that our home is unsafe to live in. Here is what one engineers report stated:

"We are concerned that the current subsidence is posing a structural risk the eastern side of the dwelling. We are concerned that another sustained rainfall event could cause further subsidence and the potential collapse of the eastern side of the dwelling. We have advised the addressee to vacate the main bedroom and use one of the other bedrooms until such time as the affected area can be made safe. We have also advised that the remaining portion of the drainpipe be extended away from the affected area to mitigate any potential aggravating factors to further subsidence."

We have have been advised by engineers to vacate our bedroom as the structural integrity is at risk. We are in fear that should rainfall occur again we will lose a part of our home. Ooba and Brolink clearly doesn't understand that that would result in a bigger claim.

We are utterly disappointed in Ooba and will not recommend them to anyone.

I have included an image of the mudslide and its proximity to our home. We are currently taking further steps with the consumer tribunal.
