STAY AWAY from Ooba Insurance

This review is more about CLC who handles the home insurance claims on behalf of Ooba Insurance. But my personal advice to anyone who has a choice - stay away from Ooba Insurance.

CLC coincidentally handled both the initial short term insurance claim for water damages - which escalated to a building insurance claim once the source of the damages was established to be inside the walls.

The complete and utmost incompetence from CLC staff at the call center was astonishing. Being pushed from one department to another - wasting countless minutes on the phone was an absolute nightmare.

For a claim raised on 5 May 2025, and only resolved on 16 September 2025 makes even the government institutions look good. CLC sent "assessors" to our house, only to find out they were merely the contractors - only to find out no one has any record of who and how these contractors came to our house for the assessment. Effectively putting my family at home at risk.

Weeks and months after the initial short term claim was raised (and stopped on the same day) I would still get calls and updates asking about the initial claim - in fact, the incompetence to not distinguish between a geyser claim and a water pipe damage inside a wall that was a month apart still blows my mind.

The only reason this fiasco was solved, I got a new claims consultant after begging CLC for an video/ conference call to look people in the eye and resolve some issues - which they declined obviously cause they are worse than the government.

Renatta Singh - I can only sing your praises. You took your time to get acquainted with our claim and actually phoned back every time you promised to phone back. Since you took ownership of our claim, there was real traction and progress. You phoned back every 2nd day as per our agreement, and when I wasn't available, you emailed me as per my request, which really helped the process. You might be the only reason why I would consider staying with Ooba.

If you have a claim being handled via CLC - ask for Renatta if possible. All the subsequent delays since she took over was due to an assessor trying to find reasons to decline our claim, using our words against us, using information we shared in good faith to validate false claims and assumptions. Someone has to advise me where to report Network Claims Assessors Group to an insurance organisation that didn't act in good faith.
