Poor Claims Handling, Lack of Communication and No Accountability

I have been insured with OOBA since 2020, paying my premiums every month without fail. Unfortunately, my experience with their claims department has been extremely disappointing.

In approximately 2023, I reported a roof leak telephonically while the damage was still minor. OOBA appointed an assessor, who inspected the property and confirmed that he had submitted his findings to them. I waited for feedback, expecting the matter to be handled professionally. However, I received no communication or meaningful update.

In February this year, after receiving no resolution, I decided to follow up and resubmit the claim. OOBA responded promptly this time, but only to reject it on the grounds of poor maintenance.

What I find particularly concerning is that I had reported the problem when it was still minor. The damage subsequently worsened while I was waiting for OOBA to respond to the original claim. Yet, despite the time that had passed without meaningful feedback, no apparent consideration was given to the history of the claim or the delay in communicating with me.

Since then, I have escalated this matter repeatedly through various *** and channels, but I have still not received a satisfactory response or a proper resolution.

Meanwhile, my premiums continue to be debited every month without fail. The premiums have also doubled since I started with OOBA, yet the level of service I have experienced has been deeply disappointing.

It is frustrating to see positive reviews from other customers while my own unresolved complaint appears to be receiving little attention. I understand that every claim is assessed on its merits, but I believe customers deserve timely communication, fair consideration of the facts and accountability when things go wrong.

I am now referring this matter to the relevant ombudsman in the hope that an independent party will review the handling of my claim and the circumstances surrounding its rejection.

I would not recommend OOBA to anyone based on my personal experience. My advice to prospective customers is to carefully consider not only the premiums and policy benefits but also how claims and complaints are handled when something goes wrong.

I am still waiting for someone at OOBA to take ownership of this matter and provide a proper, reasoned response.
