Ooba there to fill their pockets

I was experiencing problem with my gate motor, had a technition at my house to come and check. He told me that my gate motor needed to be replaced. I decided that it would be beter to open a claim with my insurance.

They send someone out (someone who was selected by themselves and that I didnt have any input on) he told me that there is a problem with my PC board and my motor and that the complete unit will have to be replaced.

A few days later I was called and informed that my claim has been rejected due to a power surge.

I have recently bought the house and had an electrician that did a C.O.C on the house and my DB box has surge protection fitted. So what it means is that it is impossible to have damaged to components due to power surges. If there was a power surge and had damaged components surely it would not have only damaged only my gate motor.

I've tried to state why I do not agree with the outcome, I was told by one of their managers that I am free to take my complaint up with a ombudsman if I feel like it.

Dear Mr. Kruger

We refer to our numerous e-mail requests for you to let us have a report from a qualified electrician and have not received this.

As explained, although you have a COC certificate, a “power surge” can happen at any time.

Once you have sent us the report, we will review this. Please send it to ***

Kind Regards
