Ooba - shady and dishonest home insurance

After good initial service on the bond origination side, I decided to take Ooba building insurance. In October, I switched bank accounts and after FNB failed to switch debit orders I put the instruction in myself. Ooba confirmed the bank details were updated, but still attempted to debit the old account. Because it was closed, it obviously bounced.

Ooba, without informing me, suspended my cover for months without my knowledge. When I found out, I lambasted them. They offered to reinstate it & because of how badly & self-righteously they handled the situation, I decided to hold them to account and find an alternative insurer. I told them explicitly that I didn't want to reinstate. I see this morning that they debited my account despite my instruction and have reinstated me after *****ing me over for 5 months of no cover. Appalling, dishonest and *******.

I cannot recommend Ooba at all. It has been a frustrating and shocking process trying to see them fall over themselves in this stupid situation. Never use them.
