Ooba - Rejected claim

I will most definitely not recommend anyone to ever have their building insured by Ooba! We were advised to make use of Ooba to insure our house when we app**** for our bond, which we subsequently did. We've been with Ooba for just over a year. On Friday there was a huge storm in the Roodepoort area, the damage and flooding was extensive, to the point of it being mentioned in the news and social media. Our carport (steel structure with corrugated roof) was destroyed in the storm. We submitted a claim and was now informed that it has been rejected, according to Ooba it was a maintenance issue!!! What a poor excuse to not replace what I am paying for!! I would fully understand if this happened out of the blue, but this was a direct result of a huge storm. The carport was approved on my building plans just over a year ago, surely this would not have been done had the structure not been safe or poorly maintained. To me it sounds like you would use any excuse not to honor your part of our contract, yet you have no problem taking my premiums every month. Your company is a huge disappointment and I will definitely advise anyone to NOT make use of your insurance!
