Ooba Insure

Ooba Insure is the first house insurance I have ever tried to claim from. What a terrible experience. I am writing this hours after they rejected my claim. They only took a mere six (6) weeks to give me any sort of reply and feedback at all. Six weeks! I had to constantly request feedback, and an update on the claim which I never received until today with the rejection letter. The reasons for rejecting my claim is utter nonsense and completely baseless. They just state that damage to my gate motor was because of a power surge. Please take note that this assessor of theirs came to this conclusion without opening the motor, testing it or even inspecting it! The water damage to my dining room due to the torrential rain and strong gusts of wind was noted as a defect. Conveniently for them they do not cover "defects". Seems like "power surges" and "defects" are their go to statements. I am just wondering how this house with this roof "defect" which was built in 1967 has not caused any problems or leaks before in the last 55 years? Or even during the last few months of intense rain? It cannot be because of the storm, causing damage, can it? Do not waste your money or time with Ooba Insure. The worst and most ********* insurance company I have ever had to deal with in all aspects.
