Let down by the insurance

Very disappointed. Had a fire at home due to power surge. They rejected the claim. I have the feeling that I wasted my money and time. What is a car insurance if they don't cover for road accident? What is a building insurance if they cover for fire but made exclusion as such! Read well the policy before signing with them or look insurers. Outsurance does cover for fire resulting from surge.
