Left hanging after claim with no proactive communication from oobainsure.
What is going on with oobainsure? Earlier this year, I had a leak coming from my geyser. I was assigned a service provider and they came swiftly.
Now, I have two properties, one being rented. After the recent heavy rains, I put in 2 claims, 1 for each property.
For the rental property, there was a leak in the roof. I had to phone several times after the inital claim call was made. They kept telling me they no longer have service providers in my city, so they are trying to organise a third party to come look. A lot of time passed, and more phonecalls. Eventually, the service provider in Cape Town phones to let me know that they found someone local. He then gives me the guys number to confirm things. This service provider has no claims to assess. More phonecalls, and they finally book him for an assessment. Great! Right? Well, he went to assess the rental property on 30 October. To date, I have recieved no feedback from either the assessor or oobainsure, from whom it should actually come from!! So 9 days to get an assessor out - thankfully the damage is not serious, but what if it were, would I wait this long?
So, now things get even more fun. The other property had bad flooding in the backyard and garage and the water pump for the tanks was submerged as well. I thought, ok, the two properties are close by and as it took so long to arrange an assessor at the first property, let me organise so that the assessor can come the same day for my other property. I phoned, I tried, I failed. All the while, the agents are telling me they will organise this and that and phone me back.
Not a single response or any proactive communication came from oobainsure. The only people to phone me were the assessor and his local third party agent. What is going on? This service is beyond shocking!
I tried phoning the claims department, but the queue starts me off at position 2, then it says, I can request a callback at anytime, but doesn't tell me how. Then straight after that, it boots me to position 7!! After waiting to get back to position 2, the music starts playing again, but no longer tells me what position I am in. Then after a few more minutes, the call just drops! I phone again, same thing, except after landing up at position 7 in the queue, I gave up. It was the last straw and hence why this review is being written.
Where in the chain of oobainsure are things going so south? What's happened after the change over to CLC?
Making phone calls for the same unaswered and undelivered things is a waste of my time and mental energy. Everyone has more than their fair share going on, but you know what, I still do my job at the end of the day. I still make sure I'm delivering on my promises. What are you doing oobainsure?

I don't know what to do anymore. Apparently, I missed calls from you, which may have been that "UNKNOWN NUMBER", which I don't answer.
I did however get an email saying you would pay out and the excess was stipulated. However, the property, policy and excess do not match and no-one even came out to the property that you are saying you will pay for, so how does that work? How do you know how much to pay and for what exactly?
I told the person who emailed this, which went ignored, I then got a separate email with the form to agree to the payout. I ask if they saw the other email and stated the above. I have received another response.
I would prefer to keep communication via email so that I don't miss important calls and also so that there is a proper paper record of all our transactions.
The other claim still has not had feedback.
Thanks in advance, and hope this can all be resolved.
Regards,
Edwin

This is why I requested email communication because when you phone, people say they'll do things and then nothing happens.
