KZN 2022 Flood Claim REJECTED - BEWARE ALL

On the 12 April 2022 KZN experienced the worse flood in the history of S.A. I live in the heart of where the storm took place in a city call Isipingo.... not far away from where containers were floating on the N2, where many life's where lost. I had water that came into my kitchen, damaged the base of my cupboards and made all my floor tiles loose. I had videos. I had pictures. I have been with Ooba Insurance for the last 6 years. Upon me putting through a claim I had an assessor by the name of Ngooje Holdings come to assess damage. There were 2 guys that came and didnt even know what to look at. They were so inexperienced and under qualified for the job. After weeks of following up I was today told by Farida Frieflaar at Ooba my claim was rejected. I was transferred to Steven Selwa at Brolink to confirm why and he was of absolute no use. He wasn't sure of anything and said he will transfer me to Ooba. Finally when I spoke to Farida she said she will get back to me in 30minutes which she did. I then was contacted by Sihle Milandzi from Brolink and stated my CLAIM WAS REJECTED DUE TO WATER LOG AND INSUFFICIENT DRAINAGE. My question is who had predicted a storm to that mass will happen and who had proper drainage. Did the N2 have drainage, Must this be taken up with the government has to why there is no proper drainage, A flood which is a natural disaster and out of my control. This is the treatment I received. A Bunch of *******, Not helpful at all. No one is even willing to answer questions or even give a second review considering it was a flood that was caused by God. Definitely will not refer them and requested my policy be cancelled immediately. Claim Number - 24523*001*002

Dear Becca  We can’t begin to imagine the material loss you and your family are going through right now let alone the emotional toll of seeing all the destruction caused by the flood.  We’ll reach out to our claims service provider and collect all the supporting documents you provided to facilitate your claim.

Please note that due to the fact that we’re getting a lot of claims through, the resolution of your claim might take a while (where we can, we’ll keep you updated).  Regarding the inexperienced assessors, we’ll escalate this to the appropriate department. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to try and resolve this. You and your family are in our thoughts.  Regards Ooba insure
