***** from OOBA insure
Good day ,on 17th of July 2024 at about 08H00 my residence ,11 Purcell Street Riebeeckstad Welkom, my water meter was ****** and water pipes damage by a unknown ********. It was reported to the local Matjabeng Municipal , as well as SAPS. Due to the flow of the water in the street due to the damage we phoned Bakgat Plumbing. The plumbers came and confirmed that the water meter as well as the plumbing connected to it was broken due to malicious damage. (annaexure A). A ******** case was opened at the SAPS of malicious damage to property ( Annexure B) Because of the extensive water leakage and ****ing up at our fence ,the water started to damage our fence due to the water that was softening the ground around the supportive pillars to our fence which is a security measure required by OOBA Insurance and the safety of my family and vehicles. I phoned OOBA Insurance who is the insurance company of my property situated at above mentioned address. I was told that they will send an assessor as soon as possible to assess the damage. Later that afternoon when my parents came to look at the damage Mr. Andre Steenberg from DA Steenberg Construction arrived at my residence. I asked him the purpose of his visit of which he informed me that he must give a quotation regarding the damage to my fence due to the water damage. I told Mr Steenberg that no assessor from OOBA Insurance was at my premise yet, so why they sent a contractor to give a quotation on fixing the fence was strange to me. The contractor Mr Steenberg confirmed that the damage was caused by water (Annexure C ). Mr Steenberg took photos of the damage as well as the area where the plumbers fixed the damage water pipes.Mr Steenberg told me that he must send the photos to the Assessor of who I still do not know who it were supposed to be. Up until todays date no assessor were at my residence to assess the damage. On Thursday the 15th of August 2024 I received an email from Katlego Mokoena (Annexure D) that stated that upon inspection (BY WHOM) it was discovered that the municipal water pipe burst??? And it was close to the fence. • Firstly there was no assessor to do “Upon Inspection” at my residence “maybe from his couch” • Secondly the water pipe did not burst, THE WATER METER WAS ****** AND THE WATER PIPES WAS DAMAGED! Of which the assessor would have seen if he/she were at my residence! • And thirdly according to OOBA Insurance the fence was damaged during the repairing of the water pipe. “NOT ACCORDING TO THE PLUMBERS THAT WAS AT MY RESIDENCE” • It seems to me that a couch potato assessor was in charge of the claim and decided from the comfort of his home or office or paid to say that the water meter was not ******,and/or according to the OOBA report a water pipe burst ,no meter was ****** as per all attached reports” and/or the fence was damaged by the plumbing company. • I have a voice not from Mr Steenberg to the assessor that stated the danger of the falling fence ,as I have a 4year old daughter and a 2 year old son who is always playing in the front yard.
Please assist me due to the fact that I am a paying member of an OOBA Insurance company that **** to. No effort was done by any assessor to assess the damage to my property of which I am paying for. Regards Jeandri Hulme
