Extremely Poor and sneaky insurance

We experienced a severe storm during end December 2018 / early January 2019 which resulted in a leaking roof that damaged my ceilings and walls.

Firstly I called in beginning January to report the issue and lodge a claim and a week went by with no response. I then email them to follow up and they said they would send an assessor. Assessor arrived very late and I had to leave what I was doing to go and meet with him after waiting for him for hours, luckily my wife was still home.

The assessor did his inspection and said that the probable reason for the roof leaks was blocked gutter drains which was caused by sand and debris on the roof. I told him this only occurred now as I did regular maintenance and this roof was cleaned a few months ago. He said that the gardener must have **** to me that he cleaned it, but I said I was there with him whenever he cleans so he could not lie about that. He also said there was sand up there and when I went up after he left I saw NO sand AT ALL there, he was looking at the colour of the concrete and assumed it was sand.

Ooba reject my claim based on a clause stating that they will not cover any issues that resulted due to a lack of maintenance…My question is and points are:- - What is the stipulated time frame for maintenance as there is none specified in the policy ? I do the gutter and roof maintenance / cleaning once a quarter at least! - The debris that gathered on the roof and clogged the drainage was a direct result of the storm, where the Debris got stuck in the gutter drainage due the Heavy wind and rain. There were no issues with this drainage or roof prior to this storm. And we have had bad rains before. The storm lasted approximately 4 days with continuous heavy rainfall and it was not possible to go into the roof to even check. They leaking started on the last day of the storm anyway. - I have repaired the cause already of the damage damage and only need to repair my walls and ceiling.

From my initial claim log, i have never received a call back from them and they only email correspondence would come when i initiated it.

I keep telling Ooba this and they keep discarding what I say. They are under written by Hollard who re equally bad! Sneaky and pathetic.
