Worst decision of my life

My parents and I have been members since 2015. All was well until last year October 2016. I had claimed for dentistry and optometry. I went to the Fnb ATM in the cbd with no caltex garage in sight to withdraw the funds and my card was swallowed by the ATM. I immediately contacted oneplan and according to the records it was withdrawn at a caltex garage, which states the card was ******. I have then filled in 3 dispute forms with a number of personal letters stating what had occurred and have spoken to over 5 consultants and supervisors. Till today not one supervisor or consultant came back to me with information regarding the investigation but until today they were not delayed with the debit order for the premium. This morning I spoke to a consultant explaining the entire situation and according to her they cannot go any further with the investigation because it is over 100 days which is not our problem. Then she says that if we wish to continue using the card we must pay the amount claimed in October 2016. They have the damn nerve to ask me to pay for something that I didn't make use off, as it is I am paying the premium but unable to use the card. They are ****** out of their minds. I have now decided to visit the head office with my lawyers and speak to the complaints manager as well as their legal advisor. They have *****ed me over way too much and now I don't care, if it means I will sue the company because this is incompetence. I will demand that they reimburse me with all the premiums that I paid for as of October 2016 and I will demand an immediate termination of the policy because I refuse to wait until they decide to complete the investigation while they take off premiums from my account.

Be ready with your legal advisor because you have a law suit coming your way. And yes that is a threat!!!

Hi Radiya,

Thank you for taking our call and allowing us the opportunity to resolve this matter.

As per our telephonic discussion, the investigation did not take place because the dispute form that was submitted was incomplete. We had provided you via email with the card number which was required on the form on the 22nd of November 2016 and the 29th of November 2016.

We also contacted your father twice to inform him that we had sent him the card number via email and we require that he resubmit the dispute form with the card number for us to be able to continue with the investigation.

Unfortunately we did not receive the completed dispute form in time and as per our policy terms and conditions, in the event that the a valid receipt/account has not been received the claims will be rejected and the insured will be required to make a payment for the claims to be recovered. The out of hospital cover will remain suspended up until the time that the funds have been recovered.

Kind Regards
