Warning re Oneplan pet insurance
Been with the OnePlan pet insurance for a couple of years. Customer service team are phenomenal because they are only trying to keep the clients satisfied. The actual contract and paying out a claim appalling. You get 4 vetinery visits per annum but Onetime only pay if the visits are two weeks apart. So if you take your pet to the vet , you have to wait for 2 weeks before you can go back should your pet not be better. The pet may not survive the two week wait. My Toypom fell ill and our vet of many years suggested first an Xray to try establish what is wrong. Nothing was found and we then did an scan the following day. Cody was traumatized the reason I did it over 2 days and I believed he would be better off at home in fami**** surroundings. Because Cody didn't stay the night at the vet, my claim was refused. R4200 incl. A no brainer.
We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience which has been caused. We do have your fur-baby's best interest at heart and wish that he is having a speedy recovery. Kindly note terms and conditions of the policy have to be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients, please note that this is by no means a ploy to refuse payment of the claim.
Thank you for taking our call and allowing us the opportunity to further discuss the matter at hand.
As per our telephonic conversation kindly note according to our policy schedule it states that, you may claim for follow up visits for the same event until the event limit has been reached within a period of 14 days ‐ for example, if your limit is R500 and your previous claim was only for R250, you can still claim another R250 for the follow-up vet visit for the same issue. You may not claim for the same event under a new cover within the fourteen (14) day waiting period.
Kindly note for a claim to be covered in-hospital, the claim invoice should indicate that there was an admission in hospital with an overnight stay or treatment or procedure done in the vet hospital.
Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. We will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions.
We have since proceeded to forward your details to our claims department, one of our consultants will be in contact with you.
We once again apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards,
Oneplan
