Thank you for your claim, but..
I am extremely dissatisfaction with the Oneplan petclaims division. When I initially took out the policy in 2017, Oneplan was revolutionary in allowing you to load funds onto a Onecard before visiting the vet or submitting a claim for them to pay the vet directly. However, fast forward to 2024, and it seems that even accidental or illness benefits now need to be prepaid before you can claim.
My recent experience with submitting a claim to humanely euthanize my Boerboel further highlights the inefficiency of the claims department. It took several days for your claim to be acknowledged, which is unacceptable during such a sensitive time. This lack of prompt response and communication is disappointing and adds to your overall dissatisfaction.
Considering the significant changes to the policy terms without plain language notification, I have decided to cancel my policy. Nuanced words such as "refunds" being added to updated policy docs should be interpreted as pay and then claim. Which has not been my experience before.
It is crucial for insurance providers to inform policyholders about any changes that may affect their coverage and claims process. By not doing so, Oneplan has failed to meet the expectations they have set as set since 2017.
I urge other Oneplan pet policy owners to be aware of these changes and potential issues with the claims division. My experience serves as a warning to others who may be considering or currently hold a Oneplan pet policy.
Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and the circumstances under which your Hellopeter posting has reached us. Our condolences to you and your family on the passing away of your fur-baby. Please accept our deepest sympathies for all that you have experienced.
Kindly note that payments for in-hospital claims can be made directly to participating Vets who have a signed agreement with us. However, if a Vet requires upfront payment from the client, we will process a refund once the claim has been approved and finalized. Day-to-day claims can be loaded onto the Onecard and paid upfront at the Vet. The turnaround time for day-to-day claims to be processed is between 48 - 72 working hours and up to 30 working days for in-hospital claims to be processed as this is dependent on us obtaining all the required information in order to finalize the claim.
We have made contact with the Vet and payment for the claim will be made directly to the Vet up to the respective cover limit.
For a claim to be reviewed under In-Hospital Admission we will require a completed claims form from the vet and the invoice must reflect details of an In-Hospital corrective procedure. If the invoice does not reflect a corrective procedure, it will be covered under the Casualty benefit up to the respective cover limits that are available on the Classic and Super plan, as this is in line with our policy terms and conditions. All in-hospital claims must meet our admission matrix which is found in your policy schedule.
Certain terms and conditions are always applicable, and these are included in all policy documents before and during your experience with us. The terms and conditions of the policy must be adhered to and app**** fairly for all clients, please note that this is by no means a ploy to refuse payment of the claim. We do have your fur-babies best interests at heart, and we will assist with all we can in line with our terms and conditions. Please note we are governed by the FAIS Act and must apply the TCF policy to ensure all our clients receive fair service and cover.
We encourage all our clients and potential clients to ensure that they understand all products available in the market and perhaps approach their Financial Advisor for a factual comparison of products as hearsay may cause a consumer to make a decision based on inaccurate information.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope the above brings clarity to the matter.
