Sounds good but dissappointing experience, would not recommend

I joined at the start of this year and was looking forward to this because it seemed to be just right for my needs, in terms of budget and service. I have unfortunately cancelled after four months and I am very disappointed and must now shop again for health insurance... The main thing is that billing/invoicing is your responsibility so you have to go find the correct receipts and they will often deny or underpay.

E.g. 1: The ~70 year old receptionist for the doctor that I visit is unable to provide me with digital invoices, she can only do this for medical aids/schemes that have a system for them, and handwritten doctor receipts are not accepted by Oneplan and they cannot verify directly with the doctor 'because of Popi' even though every medical scheme seems to be able to do this. I was unable to claim back any of my GP visits. It was quite painful to pay >R3000 per month and be denied a R420 GP claim with no recourse as my doctor just didnt have a digital invoicing system. Our pediatrician provides digital invoices, but he also charges ~R1500 where the R 420 barely makes a dent. Make sure to check with your doctor if they can provide digital invoices that meets all the Oneplan requirements. These requirements are not stated in the contract, only on the example invoice that is hyperlinked in the contract..

E.g. 2, As I had four people on the plan, there was a higher OTC limit, however, as I submitted a single bill they charged the reimbur*****t to one person, and was only refunded R190, the single person limit. I guess I could have gotten multiple invoices and billed them separately or something. But I think this also means that if you buy a R 200 cough syrup for both your kids you can only be refunded R190.

Basically, you have to do the billing/invoicing but there is no clarity on what or how much will get reimbursed.

REMEMBER IF YOU CANCEL you must do it on or before the FIRST OF THE MONTH otherwise you will have to pay for the full next month. Their notice period is a full month that starts on next first of month, so if only 29 days are left then they will take a two month notice period.

Lastly, if you are a foreign national you cannot use the app and cannot preload credit onto your card. Your only option is to manage everything on a Whatsapp chat...
