Since when is waking up in the ER not an EMERGENCY ONEPLAN!

Oneplan is not that awesome. My family was on oneplan for 18 months, my family moved to discovery and I chose to stay on oneplan. on 13th of September 2016, I visited a close family friend that was on life support and we got the news that they will need to switch off the machines. 50 minutes later i woke up in the ER with anxiety attack with pins and needles all over my body that almost led to a stroke. Oneplan declined that as I had a 3 month waiting period for that and did not see it as a medical emergency! Now I have to pay my own ER bill. Why ONEPLAN?????

Hi Jaco,

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your family friend, our condolences to you and the family.

Thank you for taking our call and allowing us the opportunity to resolve this matter for you. As per our conversation your policy has been linked to your previous policy and we will ensure that your claim is assessed the moment we receive the invoices.

We thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

Kind Regards

I have submitted all the documents that oneplan requested from Linmed. Today I received a call after I send mail to claims asking what the status on this is. I was advised AGAIN that it will not be covered because I’m a new member and have waiting periods but has been an active member for more than 2 years. I thought my policy was sorted out??? Urgent response please! This is pathetic, I feel like cancelling my policy!!!!! What happened oneplan!!!????

Good day Jaco

Hope all is well,

Kindly note that the emergency illness claim has been declined as it was related to a general exclusion of it not being life threatening.

We were however able to capture the claim for you as a gp visit and scripted medication claim and refunded you up to the respective cover limits.

We apologise or the delay in getting back to you.

Kind regards
