ONEPLAN=ONEDISASTER: PLEASE DON'T GET ****MED LIKE I DID YOU WILL REGRET GOING WITH ONEPLAN CAR AND HOUSEHOLD INSURANCE

If there was an option for six RED STARS, that is what I would rate this company. Please stay away from them regarding Motor and Household insurance. I had two vehicles insured with them for almost a year, never claimed once, luckily for me I did not get involved in a serious accident where my car got written of as I would have been left with R400k owing the bank and without a car. Some idiot that sat and sleep with his finger up his nose drove into the back of my brand new car, while my wife was sitting stationary in peak traffic on her way to work, on the 4 of July 2019, therefor not her fault. I submitted the claim forms with all documents back on the 11th of July 2019. After I submitted the claim, they took almost two weeks to come to a decision to pay my claim and I received a mail on the 23rd of July2019, stating that the claim was approved they will send the relevant documents. Out of the damage of R39691.17 they only agreed to pay R35691.17 that amounts to (Excess of R2500 plus a R1984.56 (Self insurance gap (based on the 95% Cover) which I only thought apply to when your car was written off. The account number they provided on the document was my old account no. and I ask the agent if I can provide him with the correct number to pay the money in, whereby he said he cant do that they pay into the account where my debit order goes down I have to change the number first with the correct department. I immediately sent the relevant documents and it took them almost two weeks to just change my account number. In this time I had an accident with my wife's car who is also insured by Oneplan. A ****** run over the road on my way to another town and the car got serious damaged to the front. I reported this to the police and got the quotes and all necessary documents and forwarded it to Oneplan. After a week I did not hear anything about the new claim as well, and then inquired about the claim as well as the payment of the other claim whereby I was told that they did not receive the claim. I forwarded the claim again. The next day I got a letter stating that my first claim now all of a sudden was rejected, due to some irregularities that had been picked up. On friday 23rd of August my wife inquired now about the second claim as it is in her name. She asked the agent that she would like like to inquire about the claim for her car that was involved with a accident with a ****** whereby he rep**** in a snotty tone of voice" Oh so it was you that hit the ******?" Whereby she corrected him and saying no it was my husband with my car. After that she asked again how far is the claim was whereby this person said he cant find a claim of that nature, which was totally bulls* as how did he then know about the ****** in the first place then? When she told me that they have not received it yet I sent it a third time. Needless to say she inquired about the claim today, 28th of August 2019 again, and surprise surprise the same snotty guy asked her in a snotty tone "did they not call you?"no one still knows anything about the claim and she was promised that someone will call her back tomorrow. 29th of August 2019. She then said "ok I will call again tomorrow as I by now know that you don't return my calls".So we will see if someone calls. Now I ask the question, how can they approve a claim, and then all of a sudden reject it, if there was irregularities that was found, why go dig for something after a claim has been approved, why not do the digging the day I joined and then tell me that they found something, which might have been something I already forgot about, and then adopt my premium to a higher risk category if need be after they consult with me to find out what it was about. Or was this now done just because I had a second car involved in an incident??? No, they take my money for almost a year and when it comes claim time, now they look for something to reject my claim, and especially because I now have a second claim on another car.

So after this long story please don't waste 40 minutes of your time for them to sell you a very attractive cheap policy, because you WILL regret it if you have a claim. The day I took out the policy and they gave me a price of R264 for my Mahindra XUV 500 I asked the lady twice are you sure it is correct, and asked her twice to re look at it and twice she told me it was correct, I could not believe it, now I now why I should not have believed it!!! I am with their medical insurance side as well and took the Car and household because I thought of having all my insurances at one group would be good and it was very cheap. My wife warned me about this and said its to cheap to be true, I also read the other bad comments about Oneplan Car insurance but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as I was very satisfied with the medical insurance cover I have with them, so I did not listen. I am very pleased with with the service I get from the medical side of Oneplan, but Car and Household insurance......,they should stay away from or at least go and learn from their colleagues how to run insurance. I have lodged a complaint at their complaints but I am afraid they also will drag their feet in resolving this issue. So, if I am not satisfied with the outcome I WILL lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman as well. I thought I had an insurance to rely on, especially since it was not my wife's fault. They did not even say they will go after the a-hole that was not paying attention to the road, and like in South Africa he was driving his girlfriends car which is still under finance and......you guessed it, not insured.....surprise surprise.... me that is insured...,or so I thought, got an insurance that just looks for ways to get out of a payout and now I sit with a BRAND new car, and my first I must say in my 53years of life, that I must fix on my own. PLEASE AVOID GETTING TRAPPED LIKE I HAVE BEEN WITH THESE ********S ONEPLAN, ONEDISASTER ONENOPLAN

Yes just as I suspected, please be warned about this Insurance ********. Be ware that your claims WILL get rejected especially if you have two vehicles insured with them. and they land in accidents short after each other. They will treat you as a claims ********* and the sad thing is both vehicles damage was caused by other parties, not even by my own mistake or wrong doing. There "compliance department " reviewed my case and still insist in rejecting my claim. My other cars claim that was not even on my name but my wife's name also got rejected. So these guys will just cause you a bad name and now I have to declare that which means every other insurance is now looking at me as a bad client. Its very unfair. But I will take this further with the Ombudsman. And then if I am not satisfied with the outcome with an attorney. Even if it cost me more than what the value of the two claims. These kind of abuse does not belong in SA.
